What makes Journey, Journey
We are not built around any person or ministry. We are built around one thing: the presence of God. Through worship, prayer, and God's Word, we lead people from corporate encounters with God to daily personal encounters with God.
People matter to God, so they matter to us. We prioritize relationship over ministry. We are more intentional about building people than we are about building programs.
We are a church of various cultures, backgrounds, and ages. We are all one body, called to be in unity with God and His mission, and called to look like the city we serve.

Live the Word
We honor the Word of God. The Word is God-breathed, living, and active; it is the very voice of our Father, shaping how we think, live, and lead. If you want to hear the voice of God, open the Word of God. We don’t bend Scripture to fit culture; we let it form us in His presence, because His Word is the only truth and it never returns void.

Pray Boldly
We are a praying church. We pray before we act. We pray bold, faith-filled prayers because we serve a God who does the impossible. We don’t default to worry; we live in the Father’s presence, knowing He heals, saves, provides, and moves mountains when His people pray.

Loved People, Love People
We love deeply, not surface level. As fully loved sons and daughters who abide in His presence, we will love like Jesus loves: patient, kind, faithful, and committed. That means loving people who are not like us, and we’re committed to having difficult conversations. We don’t love when it’s convenient; we love when it costs us, forgiving even our enemies, because that’s what Christ did for us.

Walk in the Spirit
We walk in the Spirit, following His leading in both fruit and power. The Holy Spirit is God’s presence in us, and in His presence, everything is easy. The gifts of the Spirit flow naturally when He is near. Like Moses, we say, “If Your presence does not go up with us, do not take us up from here.” His fruit is evident in us, His power flows through us, and His Church is built up. We desire God’s gifts, but we desire God’s heart far more.

Never Stop
We never stop becoming like Jesus. We are disciples who make disciples, growing in biblical community, with each generation building the next. Discipleship is His plan for transformation, and we are changed in His presence as we take up our cross daily and follow Jesus. We prioritize spiritual maturity over spiritual hype.

Be the Church
The Church isn’t a building; it’s a people. Because we have been given undeserved love and the gift of His presence, we will give it away. Freely we have received; freely we give. From our neighborhoods to the nations, we go into every area of influence God sends us, bringing the gospel of Jesus. We don’t just invite people to a service; we carry the living presence of God into a lost and hurting world.

What we ask of our leaders
From the parking lot to the pulpit, every leader at Journey commits to these five practices. They aren't a performance review. They're how we keep ourselves healthy enough to lead anyone else.
We engage the Lord through daily personal encounters by welcoming the Holy Spirit, asking Him to speak to us, digging into God's Word, praying the Lord's Prayer, and listening for His response.
We honor the Sabbath and keep it holy by stewarding our time according to God's teachings. We balance productivity with a commitment to take time away and recover, so we don't risk our health, well-being, and effectiveness for the Kingdom.
We protect the unity of our church by acting in love toward other members, refusing to gossip, and submitting to leadership. We exercise forgiveness at all costs: asking for God's forgiveness, forgiving ourselves, and forgiving others. We believe there is no spiritual growth without forgiveness.
We recognize the difference between good ideas and God ideas. As we seek His wisdom, we will respond like Moses: "If Your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here." We will be leaders who only go where He is leading and operate in His giftings to get there.
We honor what God has given us by tithing faithfully, using our resources effectively, stewarding His presence with humility, and using our time productively.

Yes. Journey Church is a non-denominational, Bible-based church. That means we're not attached to a specific denomination like Baptist, Methodist, or Presbyterian. We hold to the historic Christian faith and teach directly from the Bible. Core beliefs align with the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds.
Journey Church holds to the core beliefs of historic Christianity: the Bible is the authoritative Word of God, Jesus is fully God and fully human, salvation comes through faith in Jesus, and the local church exists to form disciples and serve the city. Journey is one church (not a multi-site mega-church), non-denominational, and built around honest teaching and real relationships. The community is culturally diverse, the music is live and modern, and the environment is intentionally unpretentious.
