Water-Only Fast
Jesus, Moses & Elijah
Food off the table entirely. Water only. The most whole-hearted way to deny the body and feast on God instead.

January 20-23, 2027 · Registration is open
From Wednesday night through Saturday evening, we’re giving three days to prayer. We are committed to this: at every moment, someone from Journey is praying at the church. Take a two-hour block and hold your hour of the watch.

Why we’re doing this
Not a service you attend. A watch you keep, with the whole church covering the clock together.
We’re launching Wednesday, January 20th, with our normal Wednesday night prayer service. From there, we don’t stop. For three days we’re committed to continuous prayer, making sure that at every moment, someone is actively praying at the church.
We’re asking everyone to take a two-hour block and pray for our church, our city, and our nation. When you sign up, you’re committing to be physically present. That’s what keeps the room from ever being empty. This is a pivotal time for our nation and for God’s kingdom, so let’s come together in unity, seek His guidance corporately, and ask the Lord for His mercy and His purpose to be fulfilled on the earth.
Acts 1:14
“They all joined together constantly in prayer.”
The other half of it
These three days are a corporate fast as well as a corporate watch. Prayer and fasting belong together. Without prayer, it’s just a diet. Seek the Lord about what to lay down, then be just as deliberate about what you pick up in its place.

Jesus, Moses & Elijah
Food off the table entirely. Water only. The most whole-hearted way to deny the body and feast on God instead.
02
Daniel
Cutting specific foods for a set stretch, the way Daniel lived on vegetables and water.
03
Esther
No food or water for a set window, entered with urgency when the stakes are high.
04
Juices & broths
Running on liquids (fresh juices, broths, and water) while stepping back from solid food.
05
All Israel
Fasting shoulder to shoulder: a church standing in agreement for one thing. That’s what these three days are.
06
Whatever the Lord puts on your heart
TV, socials, spending, anything that pulls at your attention. Lay it down and lean toward Him.
Tips for these three days
Decide exactly what you’re laying down and for how long, before you start. A vague fast is the one you quit.
Fast toward something. For these three days: our church, our city, and our nation.
Whatever you’re skipping frees up minutes. Spend them on Scripture, worship, and prayer, not the phone.
Ask Him to lead the fast and to speak. You’re not earning anything. You’re making room.
Skip the announcements and the humblebrags. Jesus said the Father who sees in secret is the one who rewards.
If you break it early, don’t let shame move in. Just pick it back up and keep going.
Before you sign up
Still unsure about something? Call the office at (904) 302-5320 and we’ll walk you through it.
A two-hour window that you claim. When you reserve one, you’re committing to be physically present at the church for those two hours, praying. Each block hands off to the next. That’s how the prayer stays continuous.
That’s the commitment we’re asking for, and it’s what makes the watch hold. Your block is someone else’s handoff. If something comes up and you can’t make your window, let the office know so we can cover it.
Most people haven’t. Two hours sounds long until you’re in it. Bring your Bible and a journal. Pray out loud, pray Scripture back to God, worship, sit quietly, walk the room. There’s no performance here. You’re keeping company with God and holding your part of the line.
Please do. Every block is free. Take as many as you can genuinely carry, especially the overnight hours. They’re the hardest to fill and often the most memorable.
We’re fasting corporately alongside the prayer initiative, and we’d love you to join in. Seek the Lord on what that looks like for you.
